Nordica Speedmachine 12

***Not sure how good a boot review is given the fact that everyones foot is different....nevertheless here are my thoughts.

Picked up a pair of brand new Nordica Speedmachine 12s in a 25.5 size. Damn expensive at $650 ($700 after tax), but I got 12 full seasons out of my last boots and needed an upgrade performance wise so I figured it was worth it, and boy was it!!!!

With these boots, I tried on the 25.5 and 26. 25.5 felt too tight and 26 too wide in the forefoot. Went with the 25.5 in hopes that they would stretch out. I had the left big toe area punched out (left foot is slightly better) as a preemptive action. I skied 2 full days in them and they did stretch out.

I have much more control with these boots than my previous ones. They made a huge improvement in my bump skiing, I can now transition from turn to turn very very fast. I felt that the stiffness adjustment actually made a difference as well. I left them on hard for hardpack skiing and put back to soft for bumps and off piste.

All in all I am VERY pleased with my purchase. I tried on about 8 different boots before making this decision. They were a bit uncomfortable at first because they were soo tight (I'm a street shoe 9 and these come out to roughly a 7.5). They packed out and now fit like a glove. I left them fully buckled at lunch and had no pains at all.
