Yesterday (Sunday Dec 30) I had the family and some visiting friends up with me at Berkshire East-and honestly, I failed to see the silver lining as a week's worth of iffy weather and rain/ sleet events had hardened slopes-and we were back to Standard eastern Operating Conditions.

BUt-Today we opened with roughly a foot of fresh snow-and I'll tell you that might no seem epic but it transforms little mountains like the beast-it was a blast-we went to 100 percent open and folks all over were all smiles!

Fresh snow lasted until early afternoon-and here and there off trail more could be found.

All in all, a good recovery day at the slopes as I was just on the verge of getting bitter about the conditions. I'm starting to loose my ability to roll with the punches that are part and parcel of east coast (esp southern) skiing.
