Gotama Powder Mounting Point???

Purchased my 183 Gotamas a few months ago....the 07-08 gold version.

I am confused on where the freeride mounting position is now due to the change from previous years.

I want to use the skis for powder and all mountain afternoon chop later in the day.

The only indicators are "True Center" and "Boot Center" on the top sheet.

Should I mount them so the boot center is on "Boot Center" or adjust it back or forward more?

I used the 'boot center' mark (and like it), use that or possibly 1 to 2cm forward of that.

Just to clarify...that is the mid sole marker on the boot at that point right?

The boots are marked at mid sole for boot center. Its interesting the Gotama has a true center located on it. Just for fun, it might be interesting to see how a Ball of Foot mount would line up in comparison to the boot center. Do a search on "BoF Ball of Foot" and you will find threads where the technique is detailed. Basically, the idea is to get the ball of your foot over the ski true center. In many cases this actually also lines up with the recommended freeride midsole mounting point. FWIW, the BoF method is preferred by some people because the midsole mark ends up putting skiers with larger boot sizes a bit forward, and small boot sizes a bit rearward on the ski, and it just turns out that pressuring the ski at the true chord center is often an effective location. If you do this, post back with what you find.

The general concensus for Gotama's is to mount the boot mark over the 'I' on the sidewall. The lines on the top sheet are notoriously inconsistent but the 'I' on the sidewall is spot on.

The 07-08 Goats don't have those on the sidewall.
That is why a search didn't yield much info.

They have something similar. The Volkl symbol, use the point of the one furthest back on each ski and it translates to about +1 cm of boot center. Do not trust the graphics, mine were off by 2cms. The boot center line should measure at 77.8cms from the tail.

This is easily explained by the fact that I clearly made some sort of retarded cut/paste error. Let's try this again...

Better.
I thought it was some attempt at TGR sarcasm but couldn't figure it out.
