Hey slider,

Everything seems pretty frickin trivial, after watching those buildings come down.

"Fly like an Eagle"

I remember back in 93, when the first bombing happened. I was working down there, and many of us naively thought it was the worst thing that could ever happen. Little did we know.

Then, remember all the Y2K panic. People though we were all going to be brought down by a computer crash. :

In the final analysis, in sport and in life, the sad but true fact is that no matter how bad things seem, it can get infinitely worse. So wallowing in negatively is worthless. You need the emotional energy to deal with the REALLY bad things that happen in life.

So while we are still alive and able to ski, we may as well enjoy every run, no matter how good or bad. You never know when its going to be your final one!

Johnnie Walker Black.

I seem to ski with a lot of confidence afterwards.

Hey that was my line... and that is also were I got SnO Eagle from.

Everyday I have to get up and look at the good side of life. I have a lot to deal with and so I have learn to take one day at a time.

Anyway back to Ryan's pants.....

I remember when those neon jackets came out in the 80's, I refused to buy one cause I thought they were the ugly. Them and the thin dance like pants they called ski pants.

Hey Alta,
That one piece I think beats out Ryan's pants. I think all of us Bears should pitch in a $1.00 and get Ryan that one piece. :joking:

Ryan I hope you know I am just joking.... I just couldn't see past those pants.

But I have something much worst from the 80's still packed away in a box or closet. Like a pair of Flower painted Jeans, which by the way was the favorite thing for some of the girls in my ski club to wear when skiing. They laughed at my powder blue Bibs and jacket. Later on they were not laughing when it dropped temps, and I was the only one still skiing.

PS. They also made fun of my hat because Fuzzy little ear muffs was in.

Edit added: oh messing up that big hair in the 80's was a no no, had to have perfect hair on the hill was all the rage. (not!) :

Powder is MY NEMESIS....
Just can't handle the stuff - can't feel the feet - even worse if visibility is bad - then I REALLY have no idea which way is up!

So whenever the forecast is for a big dump - I just book a VERY LONG LESSON (Like all day). Can only sook around so much with an instructor dragging me through the trees.......Aaaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh

Oh & for the record

Had a shocking day last Sunday - decided I couldn't ski at all! Had a terrible time in my morning lesson(fill-in instructor - mine, the most positive creature in existence - was off running some exams). Ended with fill-in instructor stating that he had no idea what to do with me as he thinks I am a good skier - but I just WON'T ski up to that!

Solution??? Can't run around all week in that frame of mind - will come back in a week UNABLE to ski...

Had an afternoon lesson with another instructor - who I have only had once but know to be nearly as positive as mine - within 1/2 hour he had me laughing & enjoying the skiing again!

I KNOW that MY ATTITUDE is the biggest problem I have right now - so I make sure the instructors I have have a much better attitude than I do! I just insist on having really positive passionate skiers who can deal with hormonal grumpy females!

Oh & LM - know all those feelings well....

No, Lucky, you're wrong.
No matter how hard I try, I can't stop thinking about them.
