TR: (Snowbird 12/19) A Festivus for the rest of us…

Thread Starter
People celebrate the holidays in different ways. Some people decorate a tree with lights and ornaments, while other light candles eight nights in a row.

I celebrated this holiday season by strapping 191cm planks to each of my feet and going headlong into the deep Utah snow.

This will probably have some overlap with Josh's future TR, but I thought I should post this in the name of stoke-

My website's TR w/ music: http://www.jakecast.com/2007/12/19/s...he-rest-of-us/

Full gallery (170+ pictures): http://www.jakecast.com/pictures/alb...bird-1219.html

Josh reminds us how to get deep.

I redefine the definition of 'powder-skirt'.

Dan shows us how to pole plant like a champion.

McConkey turn.

Where's Jake?

Dan getting deep.

Dan getting sketchy.

Dan getting air.

My response.

Josh slicing through.

Time to add my signature.

I'm ghostly white.

Josh showing off.

Dan going mute.

Me realizing that the ciruqe is much easier when you don't touch the snow.

See ya tomorrow!

Cheers,
Jake

Lucky you guys I got my favorites edited before work today...these are IMO the best shot with my camera. I am going to sift though Jake's and Dan's pictures later tonight.

Some overlap but they look better here.

coming up to breath, those new seths look so steezy.

This had to be taken at alta

Jake makes an awesome photograph subject

Again off the hidden rock be Gad 2

Damn snow kept hitting me in the face, must have been at alta,

Jake kept havint the same problem

Why do these shots look compressed compared to more quality shots on TGR?

P.S. You guys are killing it.

Tim I tried to enlarge them some came out better but the camera was high enough resolution i guess. I think the one of jake on silver fox came out much nicers.

curious this is easily the best TR on epic right now and its and only 5 responses?

Good point. I was going to post a no-pic TR on my 1/4 day at Whiteface today (great snow, some really soft in the trees) but I can't come close to topping these pics.

The weather sucked so bad today, no pics would have come out but it doesn't matter. I was solo today and don't have a digi cam.

Oh yeah, as OldCat82 would say, "You guys are killin' it."

Looks like good times. ^ ^

I thought I had a nice few days @ Killington, but Utah powder is obviously best!

Can't wait til January.

Well, 9 responses and nearly 300 views. I think the lurking factor is huge here for some reason.

Really good TR and I hope we will see this quality continue.

Picture resolution: Jstraw has worked as the website guru for a number of years and introduced a "hack" into the V-bulletin program that limits the size of displayed photos. This has the advantage of not requiring anyone to scroll across for oversized photos. The disadvantage is that those of us with high resolution screen settings see a relatively small picture. I'd personally like to see the size bumped up a couple notches. My recollection is the displayed size fits an 800x600 screen without scrolling, but, I think its really more like 640 x 480. The only way to change it is to let it be known a larger picture format is wanted. I'll start a thread in community asking this question.

My friend in Snowbird sent me an email saying "You should be here right now!"
