Is SAC taunting us????

I just got an e-mail from Steep & Cheap claiming tomorrow, Tuesday - Dec. 11, is going to be a day of ski deals only. After the pathetic selection on their recent 'storm' day I'm highly skeptical. I wonder if they're going to rewrite the text for Nixon watches and Oakley sunglasses in an attempt to make them ski related or are they really going to have some decent gear.

I didn't get this email, but I would like to be aware of stuff like this. I have certainly bought enough from them, don't know why I didn't get the message.

Anyway, I could use some new bindings so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Here's what they said in the e-mail:

We’re getting kinda sick of all the skiers constantly complaining about stuff like flip-flops on Steep and Cheap, so we’re doing a Bell-to-Bell day Tuesday, December 11. That’s right—all ski gear, all day long. Oh, and Whiskey Militia is doing a snowboard theme the same day for you single plankers.

I'm skeptical from what I've seen lately.

My guess is that they will be offering the 2007 Dynastar 8000 (and not display the 2008 ski).

In my opinion. SAC had much better items when it was one item per day when they started out. Sure you had to be there quicker, but it was usually worth it.

Just go look at the Backcountry Outlet inventory, that is the SAC selection marked down another 50% while they feature it.

So far everything today is ski related with two great deals on skis, Dynastar Legend 8000s for $280 and K2 Public Enemies for $169. I haven't seen any bindings or boots. They had a ton of PEs in the 179 length and didn't sell them all so they might be coming back on later. 300 have sold so far so I'm sure this forum is going to be besieged with 'Where do I mount my PEs?' threads.

Really good deals. K2 Lotta Luvs for 250. Marmot gore tex jacket right now for 131. Looks like they're coming through.

I picked up another pair for my 15 year old in 179cm. This will make the 4th pair he's owned, so at least he knows where he wants them mounted.

I recommend the top of the ski.
