Sugarbush 12/8

Skied Sugarbush this past Saturday. They seemed to have alot of the mountain open compared to others in VT, hence my reason for going.

Snow quality was about average for VT on the groomers. I skied the Castlerock lift to start the day and actually got some decent powder on Rumble (which I must say is one of the more challenging runs I've skied on the east coast). The cover was thin on the ungroomed slopes however and I've got some rock gouges in my edges and skis.

Temperature was perfect as well, mid-low 20s.

Paradise was another great run! Cover was thin, but I'd love to ski that after a big dump.

The mere fact these areas of the Bush are open the first week in December is tremendous news! If things hold up they will be much more skiable by midwinter. Rumble and Paradise are great - the whole Castlerock area is one of the reasons I love skiing SB.

I am headed up there for the first time this weekend. I will def. have to check out Castlerock.
