Thanks Pete. I snuck away for a few runs with my Volants today, after mother nature dumped a foot of snow on us. At first I was paying attention to all the details, noticing evey bobble and miscue. Then I did my best to take your advice and just ski like the old days before I discovered this forum, and ski down the hill. Suddenly I was able to get some nice good big-angle turns going that felt good, not by dialing up more edge angle, said angle being equal and shins parallel, weight being jsut so....blah, blah, blah; no, just by flying above the snow and turning harder
Yuki, you're absolutely right. Promoting myself to a level was a big mistake. I'm back to un-rated.
Edit: after a whole summer of technical analysis, it's not that easy to let it all go.
