Hi,
I've been wondering...
Everyone seems to have a favorite ski brand.. To me it is Atomic, but It's not a stable opinion, since I've not tried more than 5 brands..
So I'd like to know what your favorite brand is and why that brand is your favorite brand. - please feel free to compare your favorite brand to other brands as well - even Atomic ..

Thanks.
Kasper

Don (Philpug) Juan: When I say that all my skis are dazzling beauties, they object. The shovel of these Atomics too large; the waist of the Blizzards, they are too wide; perhaps the tails of the Elans they are too small. But I see these skis for how they truly are... glorious, radiant, spectacular, and perfect... because I am not limited by a brand. Skis react to me in the way they do, GroOk because they sense that I search out the beauty that lies within until it overwhelms everything else. And then they cannot avoid their desire, to release that beauty and envelope me in it.

That was beautiful Are you married? (just kidding)
I made the poll a multiple choice for something like that

My view is that EVERY manufacture makes a ski that is a much better performer than I am a skier. Maybe someday the brand that is written on the top will matter to me but probably not in this lifetime.

I really don't have a choice, my ancestors made it for me.

Since Jesus was a carpenter, I am guessing it is something with a wood core. :

And if you choose the "other" option in the pole, please share what brand this might be..

My last name is Fischer.
I look for skis, not manufacturers. Salomon really surprised me last year. The Nordicas have been really sweet. The Fischers served me well. ... and there are so many that I haven't tried...

BTW, where are the Bros on that list? You better not let Tyrone find out!!!

Over the years, I have been partial to French Skis (Rossignol & Dynastar). My current favorites are Volkls. The reason has always been edge grip (because I ski in the East) and quickness.

Line!!!!
odd inclusion of fatypus but not armada, 4frnt, or line. Could even bring up
PMGear, High Society, Praxis, Ninthward, and Scottybob. To me they are all either independents or boutiques.

Salomon for their sic trick skis yo.

For me, I've rode 5 different brands... Fischer, K2, Atomic, Dynastar, and Line...

None have been terrible, but my votes went for Fischer and "Other", which was for Line. But every ski is new, so i'll probably add to my list of brands again. How it skis is more important than the name, right?

Good Movie quote!
Someone splash some cold water on me!

I've long thought, skiing is as much sensual as athletic, with the shape and the curve, not to mention the body movement, when you let the exhilaration take over, and scream "Yeah Baby!!"

Grook, what ski inspires you to make dive bomber noises?

Armada !!
Locals on Volkls... I love and treat all 6 of mine with care. I had an evil thought in the back of my head to switch to Stockli next year, but I have too many to turn back.
Switched to Stockli from Volkl years ago and never looked back.

My kid was hooked into Fischer through his race programs and when I sold off all of his stuff this year I gave him a choice of two of the seven pair of skis he owned to keep. All of the Fischer skis went and he kept ..

Stockli SL's .... and older .... Stockli Stormriders

I've found many enjoyable skis coming from many manufacturers along the years.
Dynastar and Volkl are probably the 2 brands I have enjoyed the more frequently on the long run. Many memorable skis.
Now, Scott have issued quite a few great skis those last few years.
There are so many good skis from different manufacturers, that I wouldn't mind skiing all of them. Nordicas get my first look because they have a consistent feel that I am used to: damp and powerful.

I've skied k2 for about 7 years now and I love em. I recently bought a pair of 174 Recons and boy do they rip. Ive only been on hardpack at Wachusett, MA so far, but I can definitely feel a huge difference with the metal laminate/wood core. The integrated Marker bindings are impressive as well.
