Oh, yeah. He's my hero. I could go on and on about what an incredible skier he was (and is). He's one of my favorite people in the world.

This is from Wikipedia:

Josef ("Pepi") Stiegler (born April 20, 1937) was a member of the Austrian national alpine ski team during the 1960s and one of the world's premier racers. He is the father of United States alpine skier Resi Stiegler.
At the 1960 Winter Olympics of Squaw Valley, Josef Stiegler won a silver medal in Giant Slalom. At the 1964 Winter Olympics of Innsbruck, he took the bronze medal in Giant Slalom and the gold medal in Slalom. Stiegler later made appearances at many ski events in the United States, wrote articles for ski magazines, eventually ending up at Jackson Hole, Wyoming where he reigned for many years as ski school director.

I'll try to dig out some of my own photos of backcountry skiing with Pepi the last few winters.

Thanks, Lonnie! :

Pretty good timing Lonnie. I was just cleaning up my desk today and found Pepi's card buried beneath some piles. Bob has introduced him to me a couple of times. I always get a smile from him because my sister-in-law dated him a couple of times 30 or more years ago which he still remembers. Maybe I'll still get a chance to ski with hime sometime?
