New 2006 K2 PE's- Help With Topsheet

Hey Guys,

I just bought a slightly used pair of old 2006 PE demos i've skied on them twice, their sweet, but the topsheet is scratched to ****. There are a lot of dings and scratches on the top sheet, and several deep core-shots. I know that the top sheet doesn't really matter, but I was wondering if there was any way I can fix these. I barely have any experience fixing skis, and I really want these scratches.

I'd preferably like to find out a simple fix that I could do at home, but if i need To bring it into a shop, then I'd be willing to do that.

Also is there any-thing that I could do to toughen up the top sheet, B/C the Public Enemies top sheet is just really weak.

Any Response Would be great, and much appreciated.
Thanks a lot

The top sheet is made from P-Tex, have it stoneground.

How the heck do slightly used PEs have core shots from the top?? My PEs have been real durable under heavy use, so I have to wonder what happened to yours... It is p-tex, so you could theoretically patch it with a repair candle or melt some material in with a base repair iron, then shave it down flat.

I owned a pair of 2005 PEs, before they went to the 85mm waist and ptex topsheet. they had core shots all over the topsheet but skied like the day i bought them. i would still be skiing them every day this season if i hadn't been offered a free $100 season pass for them.

Epoxy the holes up and round the topsheet edges with a file so the ski edge won't catch and slice.

You can P-tex them. If they have some areas where the top sheet is sticking up you can use an iron to help lay it down. That worked for me last year, but it sounds like yours are worse than mine were. The name of the game is to keep moisture from getting under the top sheet and freezing which will kill the ski.

theres about 3 or 4 core shots on the edges of the skis, and theres a lot of areas where the topsheet is scratched and is peeling up. If I bring them in to get them tuned you think that they can fix all of this up?

They should be able to take care of them.
