Hi all,

I stumbled across this forum a few weeks ago and loving it. It's saved me from countless hours of boredom at work.

before I get to my question I'll give a little background.

I started skiing when I was 3 and skied regularly up through highschool. I was a very aggresive skiier. I took 5 years or so off and started getting back into it 2 years ago.

I did a week in veil for a week 2 years ago and Tahoe for a week last year. (i'm from MA btw). This year I'll be hitting aspen hopefully but allso want to do alot of skiing back here in NE.
I'm looking into hitting the slopes hard and am buying gear for the first time since I was a kid. I'm 26 now.

So far I've got my boots. dalbello krypton cross with the ID liner and custom foot beds I had fitted by a bootfitter mentioned on this forum (thx for that referal btw)

My question is about skiis. I don't plan on buying anything till I demo it but I've been eyeballing the atomic nomad crimson and was wondering what length would be good, the 169 or 176. Does this seem like a good ski for me to look into and can anyone suggest other skis that I should look into demoing?

I'm age 26, weight 143-150, height 5'11-6'0
I Ski mostly off piste and glades when I go out west.

Thanks for any responses. and thanks alot for everything I've learned from these forums so far.

Hi & Welcome,

I would consider the Atomic in a 169cm, it's a stiff ski except at the tip. Also consider the Fischer Watea 84 in a 167cm, a Dynastar 8000 in a 172cm and a Head Monster 78 in this size range.
