Looking for free old salomon XC bindings

I'm looking for some of the original early 1980's salomon XC bindings, you know the type, tab that flips up and clamps a bar sticking out of the front of the boot. I threw all mine out when I moved.

We're putting together a jackrabbit/ bunnyrabbit program and one of our key missions is to make it affordable--free to any kid who's family can't afford it.

We had a nice pile of new children's boots donated to us and we have some skis, but the bindings are tough to come by. We have one pair which takes original NNN bindings, and I found a pair of those in my archives. The old salomon boots are a nice pair, and those bindings are plenty solid enough for kids. If anyone has some I'll pay shipping.

What about early '90s vintage SNS? The jab-the-spring-loaded-button-with-your-pole-and step-in type. Would those be of use?

I have two sets of the toe-loop SNS, the skis they're on are in really good shape too but adult sized. I also have boots, size 42, 43, 48.

LMK if you want the shebang. I reckon the boots are no use without the bindings.

I have a pair of these bad boys if interested:

Ohmygod! the worst skate binding ever made. In marathon sugar the granuals work their way under the plate and pry the binding right off the ski (it only uses two screws). In the 87 Birkebiner I heard over a dozen bindings were ripped out.

Thanks I'll keep looking around a bit....we have two pairs of unused old style boots it turns out. I'll see if I can find them without having to remove them from other skis. Keep your sets together for now.

faber---thanks, but the old stuff I'm dealling with predates those.

I was just offering a golden opportunity to help develop character, self reliance and better skills in youth, by allowing them to suffer while using substandard gear....plus it's free.

don't ever throw those out. Dispose of them in a slow tortuous painful manner.

There must be a refuge somewhere where old bindings like that can retire and confound frozen fingers in a free-range, consequence-free environment.

how's the project coming along?
