Stowe = Game On!

So, it is NUKING snow at Stowe right. At least a foot at the top of the quad, I skied my first tree lines of the year... it's good to go. There is a hard crust layer under this new snow which prevents breaking through, there is still snags and dead fall, and let's face it, it's early. Be careful, but it very ski able. This storm looks like it will leave over two feet on the hill, epic conditions for this time of year. As I said, it is GAME ON. Woohoo.

I'm not sure if it can snow any harder than it is right now. This is unbelievable, it's like the last few storms from last year. Tomorrow, conveniently, is my day off.

Would it be an inconvenience to ask you to pick me up at the airport?
I think I have enough FFM's to make an impulsive trip.:

I thought you were swamped with work, now you have time to drop everything and go skiing.

What kind of advice are you getting and from who? Or is it whom?

Well not worthless, but if you could bring the camera along on your play day, that would be swell.

Tempted to ski MRG on Friday..but I don't get to Stowe too much when it is in all its glory.

TC, it might be your chance to hit MRG though since you will be skiing Stowe Sat/Sun/Mon.

I have a deep desire to ski MRG. In Fact, its the #1 place on my list of Must Ski but as you know, I have a lot of stuff planned at Stowe that day and don't think its going to be much fun to ditch people and skiing at Stowe to ski MRG alone.

It's too early is the season to ski Mad River, expecially if it's your first time there. You may never want to go back! Remember, no snow making on the hill. Although it does ski well with not much snow, there are lots of rocks and roots and stuff that need to get covered up.

Next trip

And besides, if you can ski the woods at MRG then you can do it at Stowe too. Stowe has great woods/a little less radical therefore, more skiable early season.

Either I need to ski MRG with you, or you need to ski Stowe with me. Maybe both, come to think of it.

: I got humbled in a big way skiing Stowe's woods last year. Every time I think I'm skiing well enough to visit MRG I read something like the above and I start wondering if I'll ever be ready to make that pilgrimage.

That's exactly what I meant, SMJ. Epic, I see photos on the Stowe website. Hence, photo-taking is possible. Now if your excuse is that you're having way too much fun skiing to stop and take pictures, that's different.

I was channeling Evel that day. He woldn't have stopped to take a picture, would he?
