I was wondering if anyone knew how to make your own skiisand could give me some pointers, or had some resources on how to do it? Im not trying to make a pair of X-Screams, or even a pair to ski on, im just sitting here in 95 degree heat at about 100% humidity needing something to do for the next 3 1/2 months since ive already read through all my ski mags and books twice this summer.

OK, it is definitely possible to build your own skis, and I think the raw materials will cost around $60. The problem is that to really make skis you need a ski press, and I'm not sure that that will come cheap. I have no idea.
I'm pretty sure that Powder ran an article (or maybe just a sidebar) on this within the past few years. I can poke around and see if I can find it, but do you really want to do this?
If you post this on the Powderboard I bet someone will know which issue the instructions were in.

I've been thinking about it and it may not have been Powder that ran the article--I don't remember, sorry.<FONT size="1">

You can make a cheap press with wood and alot of vices, but you need to find the specs on layup and what angles you have to put the composite material at.
Not too much help but skis are typically made of glass, graphite, sometimes carbon fiber, wood, dense foam, steel, titanium, tevlar, kevlar, and plastic caps.
