I've eaten there a number of times in my four visits to the resort. I think it's low-average. It's the best of the options at Valle Nevado but there are endless better dining options in the northern hemisphere. The food at the Gran Hotel at Termas de Chillan is much better than Valle Nevado but you'd never confuse it with the Seafood Buffet in the Snow Park Lodge or brunch at the Stein Ericsson Lodge at Deer Valley.

Some of my lunch favorites:
The sushi place by the Whistler gondola.
Meat pies in the New Zealand ski field cafeteria lines
The bar at Monarch (southwestern fare)
Gwyn's High Alpine at Snowmass
Deer Valley cafeterias
La Marmita de Pericles at La Parva (fondue)

Steamboat: Cafe Diva (on the mtn), Creekside or Old Town Pub (downtown). Winona's has an awesome breakfast menu. Backcountry Provisions has great sack lunches.

What's the name of the little BBQ place across the street from Heavenly? It's right next to the gas station near the gondola.

The Shed (Stowe)
The Wobbly Barn (Killington)

Amen! Miss that place!

From my most recent day on the slopes, the Mongolie Grill at Whistler...

How can you beat a stir fry where you choose every ingredient to nourish your weary body after ripping all day? What a godsend that was!

Breakfast

Turntable Inn in Minturn, the green chili breakfast burrito.

Not really on the hill, but you can ski there if you go over the backside of the sundowner bowl.

I echo what Phil said, love the bar at the Basebox and the MM. In Europe, my favorite lunch spot is St Christoff at St Anton. Both the on-slope places are good, but I like the one with the slide that takes you down to the bathroom.

Yeah, and a lot cheaper too. But, the $90+ pp we spent two years ago and the gondola ride with a bottle of good red Syrah was well worth every penny!
Yuuuummmm.

How has no one mentioned Snowbasin? IMO their food was way better then Deer Valley and the best on slope food I have ever had.

I second the Mangy Moose, the foot is good but you cannot beat the atmosphere.
