kirkwood today, heavenly last week, which tommorrow?

Kirkwood today had one short run open off of chair #5, quite short and pretty well packed. I had some skis and bindings that got mounted for free so the trip was worth it, but tommorow I'm leaning toward Heavenly even tho the single day lift is $25 more, Heavenly says that they opened Comet as well as another run , here's the poop from the source:

11-30-07 Snowmaking Update

Friday, November 30th, 2007 Comet run has opened for today and we’ve got top-to-bottom skiing and riding on Orion and Comet with Von Schmidt’s leading back to Tamarack and the Gondola. Terrain Park Manager Mike Thomas and his team are working on putting a small park on Comet, and we’re hoping to have that for the weekend!
Heavenly Snowmaking has shifted to Big Dipper and Cal Trail as the march towards California side continues. We’ve put in over 226 hours this season of snowmaking, and the West Coast’s largest snowmaking system has provided us with the best snow surface conditions and most open terrain in Lake Tahoe. We hope to get Big Dipper open for the weekend with Cal Trail to follow. Check back to skiheavenly.com for updates daily as conditions change and terrain is added.

damn, i'm just itching for anything.

i'm going stir crazy.

mildly swollen back and muscle relaxants that konk you out.

brand new Narrow Ass Snowboards adorned with a rabid screaming monkey glaring at me.

Dukes in a box.

WROD sounds mighty appealing to me whichever way you blow it.

Hey Mk,

I'm here at Kirkwood today too, wish I knew you were here too. I probably saw you out there skiing. There were some fun sections on 5 with some fresh manmade. Those clouds were threatening, but alas it just got dark. I'm thinking I will wash and wax the car tomorrow morning and park it in the Kirkwood parking lot.

I'll be skiing k'wood tomorrow even though I should be in Santa Cruz riding my mountain bike and shooting my longbow.

I've got some new boots that I am trying to pack down. Ouch?

it's snowing!

Dang, I washed the car yesterday and look what happens.:

It's 12/1 7:20 and something light and fluffy is falling out of the sky, overcast too.

It's all good at the 'wood. Sparse but all good.

must pack boots down, must pack...

sunday 'wood

Hey Storm,

I'll be looking for you on Sunday. I'll be out there with my kids too. I've got my orange dynastar 8800's.

It's fun, we got 2 inches from the Saturday clouds. It's a start.

They have been blowing snow all day and it looks like lower Zach's might open.

I was up at Kirkwood today. Where the heck that snow come from? Was really surpised to see flurries around 5,000 ft, and then full on snow covered winter driving conditions from about 5,550 ft all the way up.

Despite only one run off of chair 5, i had really fun time.....always good to reconnect with the local KW crew that you haven't seen in 5-6 months, start dialing in some new gear, and was pleasantly surprised at the conditions.

Was nice to feel some speed again.

Great to see KW blowing snow all day and I'm sure they'll be opening Lower Zach's tomorrow. [/keeping fingers crossed for anybody who heads up there Sunday]

It keeps threatening to snow here but hasn't quite succeeded yet, pretty cold today tho and i see they have started blowing snow at Diamond Peak.

Thought things were starting to improve on my way home from Reno airport last night. Snowing all the way up Mount Rose highway from 6000' but as soon as I came over the summit, absolutely nothing on the Tahoe side. Go figure

It's amazing how much fun a little snow can be. Lower Zach's was open on Sunday, it wasn't quite as much fun as Saturday but it was still fun.

Stormday, I wasn't sure if I saw you or not. I saw a guy with some white frame sunglasses hanging out with a 5 yo son, was that you? I guess we should exchanged names. Yelling out Stormday just didn't seem like a keen idea.

In the absence of any secret call sign for Bears, "Change for a Nickel" will hook you up at KW with most of us.
Shoot, yell that out at Chair 10 at 10:00 and you don't know what might happen.

That was not me. I was with my 5 yr daughter. But, i would respond "StormDay".

We only took 4 runs. She got tired and I didn't want to push it.

While on the chair i kept a lookout for Dyna 8000, but I didn't see any.

We (whole family) will be up at k-wood this weekend. I'll be wearing an orange hard shell or red softshell and a gray helmet. Hopefully, ski school and daycare will be open and I will be skiing with my wife.

Report back StormDay. I'm praying they get some snow Thurs/Friday.

Today's warm front and rain didn't help matters much.
I sure hope we see something colder for the weekend.

mkevenson I sure hope you are right. I'm starting to get depressed seeing how Arizona (and everyone else) has more snow than Tahoe.

I have been following them all day. SAT is especially improved from no snow yesterday to white stuff everywhere today. I'm stoked!. Have chores this weekend around the house, you know that Christmas thing, but next weekend, hope for more.
I know, you and I have a sickness. I think the 14th will be my first day this year (fingers crossed).

I was so tempted to call in sick today. My schedule is really light and the snow today is the best this year. Ah, but I hate to lie to the boss and I'm not sick. Of course I could have claimed "snow fever":. When's the next storm a comin?
I predict core shots.
