I've been searching the archives for about a week and I'm still struggling with my decision. I'm 32 years old, 6'3", 220 lbs and have been skiing for about five years. I grew up playing hockey so skiing came naturally to me and I've been progressing fairly quickly. I ski mostly groomed runs in the north east, I'm looking for a ski that will allow me to advance but won't burn me out and will allow me to ski for hours with feeling like I need a leg transplant.

Based on all the reviews, these look to be the front runners;

Dynastar Contact 9

Fischer RX6 or RX8

Atomic Izor 9:7

Atomic Metron 9 puls

Volkl Supersport 4

I'm also unsure what the appropriate length should be (170/172 or 175/178), I keep reading conflicting opinions about whether to go short or long. Any recommendations or advice is greatly appreciated!
