James you make a good point. Earl has to do something to pay for those well appointed bathrooms. by the way The Moose and The Bear scultings at the Base are by one of the most renowned wildlife artist in the nation Micheal Colmen. My guess is that The two are worth about $150,000.
They still don't have a bed base there. So no real destination skiers to speak of. The ones that do show up are staying in Park City and doing day trips to Snowbasin. Ogden is not what you would call a tourist type town. Salt Lake city skiers tend to stay closer to home skiing the Cottenwood Canyons. IMHO Snowbasin might be the best all around ski mountain in Utah. Good steeps, fantastic chutes, fun tree skiing. vary long runs and still lots of good skiing for beginners and Intermediates. A few years back, they were not even offering discounts for local school children. I would see families from Ogden, Huntsville and Morgan skiing at Park City because they could get the kids a $99.00 season pass. Last year you could get a discount at Canyon sports and REI. I can see Earl doing like they did in Colorado, offering vary low rate season passes. Now wouldn't that be sweet a season pass price war here in Utah.
