My slalom ski is the race stock Fischer WC SL, 165cm. I also ski the race stock Fischer WC GS for giant slalom. Based upon your needs, you might want to consider looking into something like the 178cm in length "RC" version of Fischer's GS ski, vs. the Fischer race stock WC SL 165cm ski you have. The "RC" version of Fischer's GS race ski possesses less tortional stiffness. TWith those parameters, in addition to the shorter GS 178cm length, the Fischer "RC" version of their GS race ski might be what the doctor ordered.
For what ever it's worth, I own a pair of 05'-06' 178cm Volkl P60 GS - (GC race stock version) race skis. They have the high tech integrated Marker Comp (DIN 6-14) binding mounted on Marker (Piston Control -Oil Suspension ... what ever that means) Competition Piston plates. I used these a few times toward the end of '06 before I went for the season with a non-skiing related sprained anke. They have been sitting in closet ever since and I am thinking about selling them on eBay or something. That was just an FYI for you in case you were in the market.
So, those are just my thoughts. But what do I know? That's advice from a guy who just got back from being out town only to find that my refrigerator door was left open during my entire week's absence!!
Keep your britches between the ditches!!
Hey, thanks for your reply.
I already got an Atomic GS12 in a 180, so I don't really need a new race ski
And about buying those Völkls.. I live in Denmark (capital of Ikea
) in northern Europe (near Australia), so if you ever come by Europe, tell me and I'll buy them
If not - shipping is probably too expensive..
(this was not meant as an insult! - just some danish humor because we are so infamous
