1/ don't compare AC40 to gotamas , since these are completely dfferent skis
2/ frequent problems: people are afraid of lenght, choose shorter skis, they can turn shorter turns on SLOWER speed. then they go shorter, since they lost ability to go on faster. spiraling down..........
3/ don't expect to be sizeable guy and have rather short skis to perform well in deep snow. you get floatating either by the total surface of the skis or by increasing the speed
those 3 points may allow to avoid some misstakes whle choosing next skis
the skiers that I aimed to ski like used a pole plant when turning and
I made sure I had got the hang of pole planting my turns before trying
longer skis and I had no problem at all with the transition except the longer skis made my boots feel quite loose but I knew when I brought my
beginner boots I would need another pair if I got any good at skiing as
expert skiers do not ski in beginner boots.
