Northstar at Tahoe

Just skied Northstar yesterday with my two boys 8 and 10 years old. You would have thought we were at Disneyland! Though there were only a few runs open the skiing was great but the fun didn't end there. Though we arrived and began skiing when the lifts opened, the boys would not stop until they closed, but the day did not end there. Northstar now offers a variety of activities to keep the family entertained in the new village at the bottom of the gondola! After riding the gondola down for the day the boys wanted to join all the people in the village center ice skating. So for the next 1 1/2 hours my kids skated while I had a beer while lounging in a sofa by one of the many gas fire pits around the rink and watched them. The village was alive with activity from all the shops and resturants surrounding the rink to the bungee trampolines on the second level of the village. It is just a great way to wind down and relax after a great day with my kids and I was only wishing my wife would have joined us this day so we could have stayed for dinner. After the skating ran it's course we headed up to the bungee trampolines where the boys wore themselves out doing somersaults and bouncing high. Northstar offers a great family atmosphere if you get a chance it is worth a visit or two! Oh, and if the village accomandations are not plush enough for you, the Ritz Carlton Hotel on the mountain will be completed in a year or two!

Boothcreek, good job!

Note to bud...

Next time take a camera.

Nice to see you and the kids opening up the season. Northstar is an excellent family place, and probably the only one in Tahoe where a non-skiing spouse might be happy.
