Help With Lingo

Thread Starter
Just curious as to the meaning of slang and lingo in the freestyle circles.

I know what rails and rollers are but am not sure of the following :

Kicker,Tabletop, Box

Can anyone fill this old dude in? I lack the steeze

Also, feel free to add any terms I missed.

Thanks

a kicker is basically the same as a jump. here's a big one:

tabletop- a wide, flat manmade feature in parks. box's are pretty much the same thing.

You could have been a little more helpful.

This is a tabletop. It's a jump made of snow with a wide flat top. you want to clear the table and land on the downslope on the other side.

Most of these terms are extremely familiar to me as we have built a few motocross tracks, and the terms are used universally in sports where jumping is likely.

Kicker is an extra lip that "Kicks" or launches you for take off

Table top is as shown in the last picture, a jump that is essentially a Double jump that has the area in the middle filled in to a soft flat landing. Usually the landing area on the down side of a table top is soft.

You get what you pay for. 30 seconds on google would've given him his answer anyway.

But then we wouldn't have this fun time together discussing it.

I hope you're not taking these new slang terms and then going posing in the park.

That would be oh so wrong.

I'm just trying to save you the trouble of getting JONGed seriously by the kids rolling with fo'rilla steeze.

I gots no steeze !

Watching the x-games is like listening to a new lingo. The names of the tricks are even more perplexing than the terrain features.

There is Sean White throwin down a double big mac truck driver goofy grab. :

All he needs now is some baggy pants and a pair of PE's.

I guess to round out his mad steeze someone should probably have a go at the terms hip, step-up/down, down-flat-down, crunk...maybe even quarter pipe...Of course, if you gotta ask you probably don't need to know.
And keep fighting the power, boys--the correct term is switch, not fakie. This isn't slowboarding.

Nice generalization.....

Too bad you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

If he's POSING in the park, that's exactly what he needs. If he's USING the park, he can wear and ride whatever the eff he wants.
