Unable to send or reply to PMs

This just started today, I can read them, but when I try to reply to one, or try to write one, I just get an epic blue screen and my computer just runs and runs without loading the page. :

I haven't had any trouble posting in threads though, or starting them, obviously.

Just sent you a PM test. Mine seems to be working. Went right through.

VA I checked your cp and can't find anything set up funky.
Those that are smarter than I am live on the West Coast so we may have to wait a bit to find out the answer.
If there is an answer. Could just be a glitch of unknown origin.

Um, obvious question, but is your PM full? (check both the inbox & sent)

(Apologies if this is a patronisingly obvious question, but it's always worth checking)

Va, another thought...what browser do you use?
Regardless, try cleaning the cache and the cookies...

Man of Steel = Stalin
Did you now?
(Yes, I presume)

Va, apologies for the post proliferation...this time 'twas unintentional
in the post above I forgot the main message body...:

BTW, I have more than one browser installed on my PC, so if one behaves "funny" I can check with the others if the cause could be internal or external
Browers that I am aware of:
I.E. 7
Firefox
Opera
Safari (yes, there's a beta version for Windows out there)
K-meleon

The thing about "Man of Steel" was just the P.S.
When I realized I had forgotten the main body of the message , the window for editing had expired...Silly me. Sorry.

This started soon AFTER empting most of my PMs. I'll try clearing my cookies and temporary files, I guess I haven't done that for a couple days.

My first thought was Stalin, too, but I just figured it was some personal reference. Superman never came to mind, though.

I got both the Stalin and Volant references, maybe because of the signature pic.

It's a sad world when villains come to mind before heros.

Personal reference: I have twelve pair of steel skis.

As I said though the title was given to me and added without my prior knoweledge, but I had no reason to dislike it until Nobody brought up Stalin.

BTW, I still can't send or reply to PMs after clearing cookie and temporary files caches. I defragmented files on my hard drive too, just to make sure my computer is running at full speed, but it didn't help. I've been having trouble with Norton IS since I removed and reinstalled it recently, but my PM function works fine on TGR.

That does it. I am sick of this crap! I'll get Cirq to remove it (except I can't PM him to ask for it to be done) I don't look a thing like Stalin, and I find the comparison offensive. Congratulations on taking a friendly knickname and drawing a comparison to a mass murderer.

Anybody can make a mistake and a Stalin reference is quite a reach.

I like your title. I consider it an honor and a distinction for a worthy member who has an undeniable attraction to things Volant.

Keep your title and forgive the mistake that wasn't meant in malice but was more a misguided thought he shared.

Apology and clarification are in order. Sorry VA, I didn't meant to imply that it sounded like you were referencing Stalin or in any way compare you to him. As a history geek, it just popped into my mind upon seeing man of steel. With all the random correlations of phrases that pop into my mind I tend to not give them any weight, and as such don't think of the implication made in voicing the associated phrase.

Man of steel is a pretty awesome title, which brings to mind many positive things as well.

I just wish people quit posting about the stupid nickname, as this thread wasn't intended to be about anything other than a problem I'm having with the functions of the site.
Ok, I did the nick name and anyone who didn't get it, doesn't get it.
Can you PM yet. I'm trying to break through, but the intergalactic interference is strong.

BTW, the penultimate authority on all things web aka Wikipedia has only passing reference to communist dictators; howver the last entry is intriguing:

Man of Steel may refer to:

Yes, sort of, I had to reinstall Norton Internet Security, and susequently had to tweak my firewall. The thing is still giving me fits. I had to turn it, and Antivirus off completely to logon to ebay (then turned them back on), and I haven't even been able to reach photobucket.com. :

Hey! I like the new title. LOL!

Oh and for everyone else, Cirq fixed my PM problem.

I'll PM you now
