Recommended Telemark shops in Colorado, bordering to Kansas?

I have a friend currently being an exchange student in Kansas. She might be wanting to purchase Tele gear while she's over there. She's good at normal cross country skiing, but as far as alpine skiing centers are concerned, she's only been doing snowboarding. In other words she will be a novice within Telemark skiing, but not entirely so either..

I take it she won't be taking a trip deeper into the Colorado, so if someone has a few names and locations on shops close to the border of Kansas, that'd be greatly appreciated. Or better yet, if there are good shops in Kansas..

Thanks.

I see you're from Norway and probably don't know Colorado very well. There isn't a lot of anything ski related west of the Kansas border until you get to Denver. It's mostly farm/ranch land.

That far huh? Hmm.. Not quite what I wanted to hear but..

So Denver should be the best shot if one comes from the area around Kansas City, I take it..?

I'll leave it to our Kansas members to steer you in the right direction in their state, but coming west Denver is your first thing.

I see.. Thanks for the input here..

I am hoping someone from Kansas can chime in here.. If not, I'll tell my friend that Denver might be the best bet..

I lived in Lawrence, KS (near KC) for many years, and can tell you that the shop choices are slim, and none carry tele gear. Your best bet is to travel to Denver (about 10 hours by car), or shop on-line if you know what you want.

Eudora, not far from Kansas City.. How's that?

I used to live in the area. There is a place called Flatlanders Ski in Shawnee Mission, KS a KC suburb. There is also a place called Sitzmark in Overland Park. They are both small ski shops, but I do not know if they sell tele gear.

By the way, both places are about 20 minutes from Eudora.

Thanks a lot, Matt! I will pass on the names of the stores. Should be worth a try.
