steamboat TO postpone opening

word is that on 16 November Steamboat will postpone opening for at least a week. Photo taken from my deck at noon 15 November temp is now 53

it will come, its still very early. It just seems bad since Thanksgiving is a week early.

Opening has been delayed until November 30 due to lack of snow. Press release is already out.

Steamboat is reporting 9" this AM on the mountain. there's about 4" at the base and still snowing at 8 am.

Looks can be deceiving but this doesn't look too bad

I will try opening day and post Friday PM. New wrinkle no Gondola for a while as cable is being worked on and as of last night Area could not release what lifts would be running. Also major snow making problems at Howlsen. Picture taken Deck view 10:21 29 November

Looks like the townhome that I used to live in off of Balsam Ct. in the late '80's.

Walton creek condos Sparta Plaza is where picture taken Skiing will take place from Thunderhead DOWN, upper Vagabond and back to base.. Snow making fixed and racers training on Howlson hill. NO gondola yet, as new haul rope (what ever that is is being installed.
