Saving Videos from YouTube

Hello all.
Following Pierre posting the bumps video (and also the faboulous LII/LIII
training videos from Lonnie) on Youtube and me asking permission to download I set to the task.
Unsuccesfully to a point I must say.
I have tried using:
Firefox 2 and VideoDownloader failed
Firefox 2 and greasemonkey and the ad hoc script failed
Direct download from http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
Only option that worked was to use
I.E. 7 to view the video, then open the cache:
Tools->Internet Options-> stay on the "General" tab, look at "Browsing History" in it->click on "Settings"-> "Temporary Files and History Settings" window will open-> Click on "View Files"-> the "Temporary Internet Files" directory will open-> seek for the video..

Behold, it will not be clearly identifiable as a video file but will appear as just a file, so one has to patiently look thru the list till identifies an object which "could" be a video (look at the size) and copy/paste it out of the cache, then rename it to something.flv (yes you need a video palyer that can decode the flv format too)

To avoid repeating all the steps to reach the cache, try to create a shortcut to the cache on your desktop (I didn't succeed)
Hope it will be of help to anyone. Feel free to elaborate, correct, add, change, suggest.
Matt.

Oh, just found out how to do it on Firefox...
Open a tab and in the address bar type "about:cache"
It will show two entries:
Memory Cache Device
Disk Cache Device
Open the second, order the entries by size and repeat the above 8seek for a file which dimnensions and date/time correspond to those of a video you downloaded, copy it out and rename something.flv, add a shortcut to the directory on you desktop)
