Thread Starter
Many places are already open, ski season has begun, so who is skiing, how many days so far? (I know some never stopped, you dont count )
4 days so far at Loveland. Man made snow, limited terrain, but good early season conditions.
2 at The river. 1 this weekend. 5 days over turkey weekend brake at the river.
Just got my first day in yesterday at Breck and A-Basin, and man was I wrong about thinking I was in good enough shape for this season, lol.

Getting started on the weekend, looks like we'll score freshies on a 2 meter dump.

Can't wait......:
Not frukke'n us. It does always come. It's not unusual (in spite of October's dumps) to have a fairly dry fall and get hammered around Thanksgiving.
2 days A-base , 2 days Keystone.

I'll add to that this weekend, skiing Fri., Sat., Sun., Mon.
3 days thus far (first day was October 28th with the PM Gear crew), Mt. Hood...Will be there again this weekend!

Keystone tomorrow

Checking in at Keystone tomorrow afternoon. Am a flatlander, so I won't ski until Saturday (unless I just can't stand it!) How is the manmade? Icy? It's been warmer, and predicting warmer and clear skies for next several days. Will ski Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed.

I've enjoyed EpicSki - lot's of respectful/helpful folks...

I'll be at Lake Louise this Sunday / Monday. Whistler in three weeks.

I can't deal with the Eastern dreck anymore.
2 days so far - Mt. Snow on 11/10, which was a legit day of lift served skiing, and Okemo on 11/13, which was an earn-your-turns adventure.

Vail tomorrow for opening day-groomer/man made for sure. How may trails? that is the question..very cold last night-they probally blew a bunch of snow
post #13 of 28
21. I'm holding on to my advantage over Bushwacker as long as I can.
21 already?

damn!

how have you managed that? (and where?)

i've got a measly 2 in and now according to the doctor that's going to stunt my accumulation until at least mid-December (tweaked my back in September and he 'swears' the two days i did end of Oct. exacerbated the trauma).

and hey, has anybody noticed that since Ritchie Rich popped up Bklyn is posting here more frequently? Could this possibly be her Manhattan alter-ego??? Or secret slopeside lover???

hmmmmm...

I hope they open by tomorrow, but I wouldn't count on it. I haven't been up there but a friend just told that there is not much at all.

I'm starting this weekend A-Basin.

yeah and the lack of snow in the wasatch is killing me right now.

1 silly ski day.

1 touring powder day

3 white ribbon of death day at loveland.

all though to be fair you are counting summer days and I am not.

9 so far

1 - Loveland

3 - Keystone

5 - Basin

This total to increase by 5 or 6 as we are back in the Summit area to do some more early season skiing. Hopefully we will ski Thursday (today) through next Tuesday. Got to drive back Weds. to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday.

Nice to see does numbers skibum4now.

Still at 3 (Loveland-2 / A-Basin-1) in October.

Skiing as started in the East, but I'm holding out until it gets before. Unfortunately this weekend might be good, but my daughters have 3 birthday parties to attend.

1. Big Boulder last night WROD. It was tough to see where the snow ended and the fog began.

you are right, I just checked the web site and they are postponing until 11/21..oh well..as of yesterday they were still opening tomorrow

plan B-maybe A-Basin-I really wanted to get a day in before I head out of town for two weeks

Only two so far:

1 - Copper
1 - Winter Park

I'll be back at Winter Park on Saturday. Nothing to write home about so far. Only the WROD. Village Way (formerly known as Parkway) is great till it narrows on the road and becomes just like East Coast skiing-extremely icy. I did get to finally meet Icanseeformilesandmiles yesterday in the locker room - he finally made a decision and is returning to WP this season. Really great to see everyone again and find out how their summer was. I scored a big locker to myself and a spot on the boot room dryer rack this season. Woo hoo, dry boots and no more guy stuff in the locker! Now, we just need some snow - NOW.

I just realized the mundanity of the title of this thread.

anybody who is skiing wouldn't be posting in a thread until after they had finished skiing, thus they would have skied, not be skiing.

aren't semantics a wonderful thing?

btw, Red House Painters Old Ramen is really a wonderful album...

15 days so far mostly at A-Basin (with a couple at Keystone). For me actually skiing is always more fun that training for skiing, so I haven't minded the man-made snow or early season conditions. Stuck back in Seattle this week though, so I won't get to ski again until Monday.

We heard you the first one hundred times you posted this. We still don't care.

Thank you,

/Next week for me.

Opening is alittle late in the Canadian Rockies. Lake Louise opened last week with what I call the Wewaxy 5000 - which is 5000 people on very little snow - no thanks. Norquay opened two weeks ago with relatively little snow as well. Sunshine opened today with over 50 runs and a claim of over 70 cm of snow - 50ish within the last 5 days. Unfortunately, I'm swamped with work so skiing can't happen until this weekend.

0 so far...However, I leave PA on Saturday, arrive CO on Monday and WILL ski somewhere on Tuesday as #1!
1 day at A Basin, out of town for Thanksgiving so will have to wait a couple of weeks till I go back.
