Nice shots endless,
But do any of these people post here, or are they all Powderguys?

Edit: Ignore question above, who are the two on the snowboards?

Great, but what's with the wuss in the helmet with a snowboard strapped to each foot? If those things were any wider, you'd have to split your crotch to stand on 'em!

Looks like Aviemore in an epic year....

Hi! I do post here, and other places, but it's been awhile. Skied with endless in Aug and Sept down at Timberline. Skiing in the summer is a great experience. I'll most likely miss Oct, can't wait for Baker to get dumped on, should be soon. Maybe. Hopefully. Please?

milesb- Thanks.

JR- If you mean the picture with DINMS; he's got the right skis for late afternoon slush (which sometimes happens on Palmer, but didn't this trip). Also, he's not a wuss--he's only 12 years old. That kid can ski.

FoxHat- Oh, do you mean these snowboarders?

Oh, you know, they're just the regular kinds of snowboarder chicks that like to get picked up by powdermag types...

Endless,
yep, them's the ones!

Could you find out if they are interested in going to Whistler 6th December for a week, or maybe to Utah at the end of January???

You had to put the one in with the Huck's shakes. Now I really feel bad.
I suppose you stopped at Mountain Mocha on the way up too?

FoxHat, you just may get a chance to ask them yourself, if they contact me. The girls know the web address where I posted the pics and are supposed to contact me when they get back to a computer towards the end of the month.
It was a great weekend. The weather doesn't always cooperate on Hood.
Two of the weekend days were a little too cold to dress like that. It was on the first day that we were all dressed for hot weather. T-shirts, no shirts, skirts, etc. I've been up there when several girls have simply taken off their tops and boarded or skied in their bras.
Michelle was flashing a lovely leopard print thong as she was riding down the mountain. When I suggested that she let me take a picture of her riding, she suddenly became very camera shy. She wanted to know what the pictures were for. When I told her they were for the internet, I think that's where I messed up. Sorry guys...

endless, on the second page of your chamonix pix, is that the same bridge that Scot schmidt and Glen Plake skiied from in the that memorable scene from The Blizzard of Aahhh's?

Did you post it in "meetings"?
Labor day I have a commitment here in New Glarus.
When I was up there in July I met a guy who's goal was to ski every day the lifts were open. An older guy(50s maybe?) who, if I remember, was on the old K2 Fours.
I don't get many Huck's shakes when I'm out because the kids fill the place and we're on a tight deadline. I do get over to Mountain Mocha whenever I'm in Govey for an iced latte(made with coffee ice cubes). 20 years ago I used to go into Huck's late at night for oyster stew(fabulous) and a vanilla malt(YUM)
Did you see my post in "meetings" last summer?

Karsten- Yes it is. That's the bridge that can be seen in 'Blizzard'. The terrain features, bridge, and sheer rock walls around the spire are incredible.

Wink- 3.5 months??!! Why can't you ski until the end of the year? I thought you guys opened around Thanksgiving up your way...

Slatz- Meetings? Never heard of it until now. I'll have to check it out when I can take more time (I barely have time to try and keep up with the main boards).
I thought you would have seen all the talk on P-mag leading up to the two trips to Hood this summer. Maybe there isn't as much cross-reading and posting as I thought.

It won't be long now. We got snow at the top of LCC the night before last. Timberline opens for the 2002-2003 season this Saturday!! Things are looking up...

It's the Meetings on the Hill forum.
I'm more race oriented and have never found much interest in Powder Magazine. Hence haven't spent much time at their site. I have a limited amount of time available for reading, etc. I do enjoy free skiing and powder(check my profile for my "favorite") but don't make it a priority to read about it.
I've had some pretty memorable times on Hood and in Govey over the years(21 this year).

Great pictures Endless... and a question. I was particularly interested in the caption to one of your shots that referenced "what was left of the terrain park". My brother and I are contemplating a trip to hood in mid-october and wonder what the skiiing might be like then, specificially if they keep the park up, mogul fields, etc. and is there terrain to hike to above the lift (I can see some bands of snow in some of your photos)--cheeers.

Funston's- I can tell you that the terrain parks are a huge priority for T-line. They will take whatever snow they have available (new and old) to make sure they have something open for The Parker's.
When you go in mid-October, it will have snowed a few times by then. I'm thinking it will be pretty smooth, sweet coverage. But, be prepared for mid-winter blizzard conditions if the storms decide to roll in while you're there.
Let us know how the trip goes (pics too).

Oct 96 I had 1 super day out of 3(sun and new snow) the other two they were closed. It's a crapshoot.
