Where you ski, do you find the crowds to be worse, better, or the same?

Feel free to include some personal experiences.

I've personally had some great days on Superbowl Sunday, so I'll say the crowds are a bit better. Two places that come to mind are Holiday Valley and Whiteface.

Some ski areas run Super Bowl specials on lift tickets to keep the weekend attendance up, so it depends where you ski. I had some friends who went to Vail for the first time on a SS Sunday to avoid the crowds and found out too late that there had been a 2 for 1 cupon in the Denver paper. They paid full price and had 45 min. lines on every lift. I have also seen SS deals at Telluride, so I'm sure many areas do it.

We went to Schweitzer when the Seahawks ,our favorite team , played in the Super Bowl . Good thing too. We had a much better day than the Seahawks did.

Love skiing Superbowl Sunday. I usually plan to ski 'til 3:30 & watch the game apres ski...much less crowded.

I'm with Dino all the way. I've skied at least 15 Super Bowl Sundays.

The first Superbowl I remember missing was due to skiing, though I recall seeing it was on the TV in the bar (I was a minor then). This lead to me losing interest in football altogether.

I can't name both of the teams that played last year. It was deserted that day though.

Colorado resorts close to the front range tend to be less crowded on Sundays that the Broncos are playing. Superbowl Sunday and the ponys are in the game? Empty.

I'm usually on the hill on Super Bowl Sunday and I can't remember it looking any different than a usual Sunday. Maybe being in the West Coast time zone gives people a chance to get back home for the second half. That's what I do.

I watched a superbowl once. Really didn't see the appeal.

Resorts are generally popping on Superbowl Sunday.

My advice is stay at home and watch the game and let the rest of us gapers flog around the hill amongst the massive, unruly crowds.

Same with New Years Day. Second worst day to ski by far!
