Summit County 9-13 Dec!

I'll be in Summit County skiing 9-13 Dec and would love to hook up with anyone wanting to make some turns.

I've got an Abasin bonus pass and a Loveland 4 pack I can use. If snow is still mostly the man made variety(here's hoping not) I'll stick mostly to Abasin. I'll be out in Jan and Apr as well, so would like to save the Breck/Key/Vail days for better conditions.

I'm sure I'll do Copper with Bong at least one day as well.

Look forward to skiing with some Bears and hoping the snow starts flying:

Gidzmo!

I "may" be out that way, as well.

Need to plan and early December trip to Denver and wouldn't mind slipping in at least a day at the Basin for sure.

Will keep you apprised of my status in the coming weeks.

Would be a pleasure Dookey and would be great to hook up before Utah.

Here's to enough snow for me to try out the Mantra's:
there was enough man-made when i was there weekend before Halloween...enough that Bong entrusted me with 2 pairs of his own personal planks.

I'm sussing ishit out, but there's a fair chance I'll hook up with y'all prior to Utah. Fingers crossed.

I'm getting itchy. Doesn't help that when I hang out with my non-snow friends they ask me about the conditions and if/when I'm going. I start sounding like a broken record right about this time of year talking about gear, snow, hooking up with peoples, snow, more gear, and snow.

Betsy and I certainly would like to ski with you Jim. We’re heading off to Maine for some time but will be back by then and anxious to get back on the snow. I’ll PM you with updated contact numbers to plug into your phone.

Sounds great Don and will be good to see both of you again.

The more the merrier!

We will probably be out again around that time, as we plan to see the Warren Miller movie in Denver and get some free tickets which have to be used by Dec. 15.

Think SNOW!!!!!!

Looks like I may down for the count most of December.

Tweaked my back back in September and it started swelling up again last week. Today the doctor gave me uber tranqs (muscle relaxants he advised would make me so dizzy i probably shouldn't walk, let alone drive, whilst taking them!)

When i told him i'd gone skiing a mere 3 weeks after smacking my back he shook his head and said next to golf skiing was the worst thing in terms of putting insane torque on the back.

i've been advised to do nothing more strenuous than walking for the next few weeks and then get with a PT.

so i'mma be out of commission until mid-December, which is a serious bummer.

thankfully the lack of snow here in Tahoe helps a bit.

i may still be out that weekend, though, to visit some folks in the D, so would be down for dinner or something at least.

Damn dook, that's no news we wanna hear. Definitely post up if you're around, we'd love to get together again and have some drinks and grub.

We'll be around Jim, so we'll definitely hook up!

Dooks: Sorry to hear about the back. I tweeked mine last January, and it took about 6 weeks to fully heal. I was likely on the same relaxants as you. They made me loopy as fruitcake (work was fun - never uptight).

The good news - it's happening early season so you'll be in great shape for the big snow months.

Until then, we'll miss the uber-plaid!

Jim: We'll likely be at A-Basin or Loveland on the 8th and 9th (gotta work other days).

Maybe we'll see you. What's your look?

^^they got me on Super Vitamin I (Nabumetone, which is like Ibuprofen X 10) and Methocarbamol (muscle spasm reliever).

took a couple around 4 today and was out within 40 minutes.

took some more around 9 and now i'm wired.

feel like i could ride the WROD till my back fell off and wouldn't even know it!

i'll keep y'all posted.

That’ll do it…just don’t get too attached. Get healthy and get out here.

Well that sucks Dookey, but if your in the area we'll definitely get together for libations at least.

Mike and Captstrato I'm looking forward to it. I'll post a proposed schedule as it gets closer, but I'll adjust to what works for people.

See everyone in a few weeks.

I'll definitely keep you up to date Glen and it looks like some snow is on the horizon:

I may be able to make a few turns one of those days... I'm scheduled at Copper the 11th and 12th... Hopefully, we'll connect!
This is sounding like a good time. I was waiting for some good snow (aren't we all) to make the first trek to CO.
Let's see - - - skiing - - - Libations - - - skiing - - - Food.
Count me in!

dookey, sorry to hear you'll be out for a while. Of course at this point you're not missing anything. I may have to have some minor ankle surgery which will keep me out or about a month, and I figure it's better to do it now than mid-season.

Many thanks for all the replies and I hope the snow comes fast and furious.

As I have to use a week of vacation for this trip I'm thinking about moving it to early Jan.

I'll be watching the weather over the next several days and will make the call this weekend.

This will not change the amount of days I ski in the west this season, only the dates.

Here's hoping I look like a fool(less than normal) for even considering this

Let's Sea what this week brings before we cast judgement!
Been Dry, Real Dry!
The weather lady (the one that's a Hottie) told me to get a tune this week!
As Ugly as I am I think she was talking about my Boards?
Hi Glen, Jim and the rest,
The weather forecast looks good today. 5 inches at Copper over the last two days and a chance of snow each day this week. I remain hopeful.

Glen, since you are close, a snow dance or two with your weather girl might help - We want the weather girl happy so she will bring the snow.

Hello All!

As of now I would say that I'm 90% sure I'll be postponing this until early/mid Jan.

Since I'm using frequent flier miles I can wait a few more days to cancel but please don't firmly plan anything around this post.

If I end up with these dates I'll go with the flow. Thanks to all for being willing to put up with my company.

Tonights weather reports claims there's a storm building up for friday night into Sat. The path is up from New Mexico, Southern Colorado looking good & the claims is Vail & others could get 12".We will be up in the area for the weekend & will report if the news is good.
Tiff and I will be up Friday for the day. I'll likely go back up on Sunday if there's good snowfall Fri/Sat. Glenn, do you plan to ski the weekend or are you workin' on the crib?

Gary/Mike/Steve/Glen et all...

After much deliberation with the wife(go now or I'll shove these ski's up your ***) I'm back on for the original dates. No more changes forthcoming and looking forward to seeing everyone on the WROD or just for dinner.

See everyone in less than two weeks and looking forward to my first turns of the season.

Let it SNOW!!!

Mike,
Will bring the boards up, but were this close to drywall that we might have to pass!
Weather report is all looking for the first big one of the season! Lets hope so!
Gary if your going to be in town & you need a place to stay in the Mile-High City the offer still stands!
Jim looking foward to making a few with everybody!
Anybody know if Uncle L got some spare time?
I got the usual stack of discounts to the Basin, Loveland & some Copper so if anybody is in need?

SC,
Hope all is well on the "New Home Front".
As they say in the Biz, "the first 90% of the project is E-z, It's the last 10% that's the hardest part!
Hope to make some turns with both of you soon!
