Looking for skis

Thread Starter
Hi I am 55 years old male 165 lb and 5'5". I am intermediate skier and mostly doing Blue groomed terrains. I skied for 15 years, but always rented. The size I rented was always around 164-5.
This season I decided to buy skis. I am looking to spend around $200 with bindings. (My budget is $450-500 for all: boots, skis, bindings, and poles.)
I've been told that I should invest more money on good boots then skis.

If you have something to offer, please do.
I live in Denver, CO so anything in Colorado is preferred.
Thank you all.

Need Skis

Watch your ski swaps and get there early.. Just bought some Atomic R10 160 with Atomic system bindings, about 6-7 yrs old, absolutely almost perfect condition for $50.00, for my rock ski's-ski swap.

Thank you all for responding.
I just spoke with a sales person at ski&golf and he told me that I need 157-160cm skis instead of what i posted before 165.

So one again if someone has something to offer, please do.
thank you all again

I think you would be better off with 165 cm skis.
Do spend the money on boots, and make sure they fit well.
Spend 20 bucks for a subscription to reviews from realskiers and keep an eye out for bargains. When you spot a bargain check it out with the reviews, which go back several years, and see if it suits your needs.

These will be a good deal for about $180.00: http://cgi.ebay.com/Dynastar-Legend-...QQcmdZViewItem

These will be easy to use on both hard and soft snow. I agree with Ghost, go with a 165cm

look about 5 posts up at the Elan 666's for $175. A great deal on a great ski.
