Comprehensive list of US ski resorts?

Does anyone know where to find an all-inclusive list of the existing ski resorts by state in the US, and if they have a "parent company" (like Intrawest for Copper)? A link would be most helpful.... thanks!

Yeah, those will work for the most part... but is there somewhere to find which parent companies own which individual resort without having to go through each website?

Take a look at the White Book, it is an annual publication that lists every ski area in the US, gives the trail count, hours, and prices.

I love these comments from the goski site- I looked up my hometown resort first, but it's well worth checking out other resorts too, for the hilarious commentary. Here's my hypothetical responses:

Lyle (spring, tx, 16 Mar, 2007): I am ending an 8 day vacation in Park City, Utah. This is my fifth visit. I am very disappointed this year. The food and customer service in the restaurants (Red Banjo Pizza, The Eating Establishment, The China Panda, Main Street Deli, to name a few) has been awful. The staff in all of the other areas has been fabulous.

Dear Lyle; You have just named the four worst restaurants in Park City, with the possible exception of Red Banjo, on the principle that pizza is pizza. Add The Hungry Moose and Cicero's and your list is complete. Every other restaurant in town is decent to great. Here's some better suggestions, in $ order from lowest to highest, El Chebasco, Cafe Trang, Szechwan Kitchen, Bandits, Hapa Grill, Bistro 412, Windy Ridge, Riverhorse, Wahso, Grappa, and for those special occassions, Glitertind at Stein Erikson's Lodge. There are lots more.

Geoff (averill park, ny, 24 Feb, 2007): I just returned from my second trip to Park City and I thought it was good, but not great. I have noticed that this place always seems to be crowded. The snow was pretty good and the lodges are nice. But I wished they put labels next to the different items in the salad bar (I thought that I put balls of mozzerella cheeze on my salad, but they were balls of butter. I ate four before I noticed).

Dude, If you travel 2500 miles for the salad bar, you deserve to eat balls of butter.

That is all.

Checking the other commentaries around Utah, they're pretty on the money and informative but you can really see where the writer is coming from. Here's a gem from Sundance;

Catherine (Provo UT, 2 May, 2000): It's the best. Even though I'm only 15, I've been going there since I can remember. There's good snow, good food in the lodges, and guys.

LOL at those hypothetical responses made of win.

The salad bar label thing is so bizarre...seriously, you went to PC and the salad bar labels are what stuck out in your mind when you got home? You're Doing It Wrong. I found this gem from geoff about Gore:

geoff (averill park, ny, 29 Oct, 2006): gore is pretty cool, but it is one of the COLDEST place in the country.
..

Oh man, Geoff should see our thread on Whiteface...
