[quote=pattongb;798239]^^ Is obviously being dishonest and has either never actually skied Granite Peak, is mistaking it for another resort, or actually skied it when it was the old Rib Mountain.[/qoute]
Actually, I did used to ski it when it was Rib Mountain. They had mogul comps there. Real moguls, too, not like the tiny dimples that form there now when someone forgets to groom a certain run ever hour. Mistaking it for another resort? Yeah - there's soooo many ski hills around Wausau. For those who are unfamiliar with Wisconsin topography - the area surrounding Wausau is dead flat for a 90 mile radius. Mighty Granite Peak is the only feature on an otherwise featureless plain.
|Sorry just no other way to explain it. Considering the mogul runs on the steep east face, and the tree runs on the west,
That slope way off to the east is niether steep or bumpy. The dead flat spots on the west with a few trees growing on them are not what most people consider "tree skiing".
|there are MANY MANY runs you could not just "tuck and run"; unless you like broken limbs of course.
How much you wanna bet? Just because you
can't do something, don't assume that nobody else can. Tell ya what - if mighty Granite Peak is still open when I get back in April, I'll take ya up on that. $50 plus my lift ticket sound ok? 'Cause I'm definetly not paying $50 or whatever ridiculous price it is to ski there.
Look - you think Granite's peachy and that's fine. But don't try to sell it as the best place in the Midwest. It's nice for beginner and low-intermediat families from down south who don't want to drive up to the UP, but that's about it.
