I need a pic of someone's leg in that thing to figure out exactly how it works.

And the advantage of this binding style is...?

This is one of the pics that was still available in the original link.
I'm sure Phil will have some better pics when he gets a chance, but you'll get some idea from this.

Weird! So, that hook thing goes around the front of your leg, or around teh back? How did they release? Were these like some mega high end thing, back in the day? About when did these come out, anyway?

Sorry for not knowing anything, I've only been into skiing for 4 years now (I think, maybe 3), and those bindings are probably older than me.

From what I understand the boot has a notch that holds the toe in place while the hook goes around the back of the leg.
If I'm wrong, someone smarter than I am will clear it up.
Not something that I want to try out, myself, but definitely am interested in seeing video of Philpug showing us how its done!!

Not junior, no, those would be "Team Course", not "Team Nationale" with the SL hidden like that behind the binding.

Pass the crutches, I'm stumped.
You are getting warmer. They ARE the Chracoal of the Course SL, except unlike the regular Course, which has a matte finish, these are glossy. Also note the color of the writing.

: Yeah, pink instead of white with green Dynastar instead of white. That just speaks ~'93 to me.

88-89 Dynastar Course SL Coupe du Monde as in actual team race room skis...?

I stopped at a shop, where I used to work at yesterday and chatted with the owner about these> He recalled skiing them too and we both agreed their shortcomings were bumps and aggressive skiing..two things that I do regularly. What the hell, I will still mount and ski them. He is going to keep an eye out for some old SCX's or such.

We did talk about my old Molnars too. I told him I found a pair, he was the only one who asked me if they were yellow or green and able to decipher the difference.

OK, they are mounted up on some Volant PowerKarves. I would have taken some pics, but the camera is in Vermont. I plan on taking them out this weekend.

Oh, and Whiteroom, I put a "SkierShop" sticker on the skis, so if anyone asks where they can get a pair....

A bit late but...

And

I found the images in a thread which came out in an Italian ski related forum (www.skiforum.it)
Funny how the same things are discussed in different places, almost simultaneously. It tells me that the skiers are not only the same all over the world, but also that we are all in synch (or all out of synch), kind of.

I am going to resurrect this thread because, believe it or not, in Italy, around the same time (2008) someone spotted a movie (on youtube) of Phil skiing in those....
I just found it out...
