Unless the weather rallies, I'm willing to bet opening day is going to be pushed back...

I'll wait and see. I have business in SLC on Thursday & bootwork Thursday night. I need to be in Denver on Monday. Colorado might be a better bet for the weekend...

It looks like we'll have a group of 4 or 6, and I'll be the only non-Utard.

Anyone else, all is welcome.

...the forecast is actually starting to look purty good (It's all due to my trade-secret snow dance).

Whenever they open, that's when I'll be there (at Snowbird at least).

Is there a good way to meet up with the group?

Canyon forecast reports possible snow on Friday... Doesn't seem like it would be enough, but we can always hope!

Somone needs to throw a snowdance party I guess.

Alta Postpones Ski Season Opening

News - Resorts
Alta, UT - Warm, dry weather across the Intermountain West has taken its toll, as Alta Ski Area announced today that they will postpone Thursday's scheduled opening day until storms drop more snow on Utah's Wasatch Mountains.

"Our optimism for a November 15th opening hasn’t been supported by Mother Nature," Alta spokesperson Connie Marshall conceded this afternoon. Referring to Sunday's snowstorm, Marshall said, "Our first storm in two weeks gave us five inches of snow and cooler temperatures so we can now make snow at night. Pray for another storm or two. We’ll open as soon as conditions allow."

Saw that yesterday.

So I'm spending another weekend working in ABQ. Ugh.

Well everyone is telling me it's too mild and dry for early skiing in Utah this year . I'm following "plan B" driving to Colorado, no joke!

I'll see everyone at the Utah gathering during the first weekend in February.

Cheers,

Michael

What to do in Utah when snow in scarce...

Open a Starbuck location (no), start a polygamist colony (No, No, No).

Go to Arches National Park near Moab (Yes)!
