You probably should have waited 24 hours before posting.

I think that assumption is fallacious.

With respect to sharing a 'love of skiing', (shared feelings, shared values, shared needs, shared behavior and methods, etc.) I find as much in common with people posting here as I do with people who play golf. And I don't play golf. The percent of people that I feel something major in common with is roughly equal to that of the world at large, maybe 5%, but then that is plenty of 'community' for me.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Grrrrrr. Grrrrr. Grrrrr. Wow, red font and everything, even in the quote. Someone didn't get breastfed as a baby.

I wonder what font color would would denote goodwill rather than acrimony?

I think you're on to something; I get pissed off playing golf, so we have getting pissed off in common...

Hey, dookie - I love Legalize It, too, but was thinking it's a little slow on the riddim for my skiing style. But, hey, Stepping Razor might apply for some posts here:

I'm like a walking razor
Don't you watch my size
I'm dangerous
Said I'm dangerous

(well, as dangerous as posting in an internet forum gets...crud, where was I?...)

It's okay to not argue even if the other guy is wrong. Unless you want to argue, then knock yourself out, but don't get upset when others won't agree with you.

"Legalize It" was running through my head as I was listening to UB40's Labor of Love IV and they cover it pretty solidly.

Man, just had to IMMEDIATELY bump the thread (we need snow. badly). Here's the babelfish translation to Italian of the above:

It looks better in Italian than in German, no? Of course, in keeping with the thread, YMMV...

I'm not commenting either way, but I thought translating it BACK from those languages made it MUCH clearer...

(from Italian)
In a generalized manner, interruptions which the insults, compliment backhanded and hostile or sour behavior outside enough much base alone. The aware tried ones to increase to you over those interruptions they will far away go in carrying out cordial and an atmosphere of welcome on the tribune. I find the sense better to avoid that the degenerating level of the argument is this: when you think gets passionate to you and aggressive (observing in order to fight) approximately an answer or an argument, it attends 24 hours before the answer. You will find that your attitudes and ideas can change enough one head in that time. And ricordisi of that... not there are laws that force them to answer endured.

And from German:

Entirely, interruptions such as offenses, backhanded radix complements and hostile or unreifes behavior quite much location out through. Conscious attempts, over those interruptions to rise go, far, if they maintain a likoer and welcomes an atmosphere on the forum. I find the best way to avoid that degenerative level of the discussion is this: if you feel passionate and competitive (i.e. looking to fight for) over an answer or, before the reaction you wait a discussion 24 hours. They find that your attitude and ideas can quite change a point in this time. And you remember that... there are no laws, which force you to react immediately.

Ah, so true...
