Hi all – This is Eyal's wife, Shane. We enjoyed reading all the advice about how to store skis over the summer. Currently we store our (Fischer RX8 165cm & RX6 150cm) skis under the bed, well waxed, on their sides, not interlocked, bindings released (up), inside their ski travel bag. However, like all of you, we too love to reminisce about the antics of last season (all one or two weeks of it for us)and to dream of the season to come.
This is our question – we would prefer to have our skis out in view (Eyal thinks more about skiing than about almost anything else) – is this possible without damaging the skis? Note: we live in Israel by the coast, in hot, humid weather, and prefer open windows rather than air conditioning (anyway, we try to save every penny for our ski trips to Europe – not much snow in our country). If you think it is possible to have them out, then how would you suggest we hang or lay them? We read that some store theirs resting on 2 brackets, bottoms up. Would we be able to store them on our living room wall like that? Or should we lay them on their sides on a shelf? Thanks in advance for your advice.
