After reading as many reviews as possible and thinking long and hard about what I need, I think i have it narrowed to two.

I am looking for something that I can use as an everyday ski around home that isn't as demanding as the allstars which I don't like skiing when the slopes are so crowded or skied out that you can't go fast and turn where you choose.

I'm thinking either the fischer cool heats or nordica nitrous would be the top choices. they aren't an expert only ski but offer good eastern performance and have at least some deeper snow potential for a trip out west staying on groomed.

Congratulations, very reasoned choice with the Nitrous. As far as the Nitrous not being expert only......if you had to rate them that way, probably true. But it's enough ski for most good skers most of the time including myself. It is also one of the best bang for the buck skis on the market. The Cool is a fine ski too but it is definitely on the agressive side. (similar in aggressiveness level to the AC-40 et al)

Very nice format...that is why I am using it, if you don't mind...

Me- 5109" 240 lb., 48 yr old, level 6/7 ability…

Where- I live in Colorado, ski in state only…

Ski groomed 100% of the time on blue/black…

Goals… For right now develop technical skills as much as possible and enjoy the sport…

As skill progress, would like to be able to ski bumps…next year…this year develop technically..

Plan on skiing 12-15 days this year…at least 50% of those during the weekday, which means 20K to 30K of vertical feet are skied during those days...

Looking for that front side carver that will make me a better technical skier…

Currently have-

07 Head im72, 170cm…

Considering getting-

Dynastar Contact limited.172cm…

Head Supershape 165/170cm…

Elan Speedwave 12, 168cm…

Fischer RX8 170 cm…

Not all of course, but one of the above skis…

But I would be open to any suggestion that would help round out my collection.
