Diet sucks I drink loads and loads of cola, beer, vodka, absinthe, fisherman, rum and energydrink I LOVE IT anywho - what's the article about?

Old fashioned "Red Coke" is mighty tasty. Drop in a scoop v vnilla icecream and you are in heaven.

Diet Coke is ok but a mere shadow of big red.

Tried Coke Zero? More like red coke. No Sugar which appears to be the devil.

Caffeine? - OK it is not health food but let's not get crazy.

Last night I had a "Cherry Coke". Coke Zero and 3 Olives Cherry Vodka (1/2 Gal on sale for $20). Darn good but I could never order one in a bar with a straight face.

What a bunch of BS. Probably written by some pale faced rabbit food eater.

Quite the drama in that article. Give me a break. So don't drink Coke on an empty stomach, but frankly, they're making it sound like you drink one Coke and you're going to be diabetic and piss your bone marrow out into your toilet... For God's sake don't live on the stuff, but as part of a balanced diet, having snack food like that every now and then just isn't a problem. And the declaration that it will turn into fat doesn't hold water. It could if you already had enough calories in your body to satisfy your caloric needs, but frankly if you eat too much protein powder you'll turn the excess into fat from that!

The Boston Globe had a fairly long article on this study this morning. About 3/4 of the way through, they got around to mentioning that, basically, correlation is not causation.

They did not put it so baldly, but maybe being diabetic makes you crave diet coke, rather than the other way around...

I don't think Diet Coke is the problem (not this one, anyway)...

I'm going to drink all the Coke I want... The way I've been hearing it, my days are numbered with global warming, the terrorists, George W Bush, and our rapidly falling skies.

Take it from this guy... Coke is it!

Too many sibilant fricatives in this thread for real Coke drinkers.

i guess it goes with the old saying "you could live to be 100, if you give up all of the things that make you WANT to be 100"

If the health consequences of drinking a regular coke is my biggest concern, then i'd say life is pretty good.
