Racetiger vs Dobermann

I'm in the market for a new GS ski and have been looking at the Volkl Racetiger GS Race Stock and Nordica Dobermann GSR. I was wondering how the skis compare to each other. I was also wondering how much of a difference there is between the 175 and 180. I am currently on Volkl P60 GS 175 and there are times I would like a bigger ski but not too much more.

I am 5' 7", 140 lbs and will be using the ski primarily for Masters racing and training.

Dobermann 181 GSR every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The GSR is stable and quick. I ski them in a 186 and I am 5'7" 160-165lbs. They really rip. IMO, 5cm does not make a huge difference in any area other than stability (186's are very stable).

As far as a comparison between the Volkl and the Nordica... I have heard the Nordica is much faster but is also much more demanding. I have not skied the Racetiger though. The skis do have very different characteristics, so make sure you take than into consideration. If you're a proficient skier you should be able to ski the 180/181 just fine. I would focus more on the qualities you want in the ski in order to make your decision.

FWIW, even though the Nordica is beefy it also turns pretty fast. To date it is the quickest edge to edge stock GS ski that I have been on... of course you have to be hauling @ss to get to that threshold.

I ski the Dobermann in a 191 and think they are incredible. Very smooth, precise and extremely stable. Though I've never been on the Race Tiger, at least in the shop, they seemed relatively light compared to other race skis...I prefer something with a little more beef.

If you do go with Nordica the shop below always seems to have them in stock at dirt cheap prices...186cm for $189:

It is where I bought mine and I was really happy with the purchase.

Thanks guys, I was leaning towards the 181 Dobermann and this pretty much seals that decision for me.
