Winter Park Chalet?

I havent been to WP since 1992. My parents loved taking the kids to WP because it was one of the only Major ski resorts where you could bring a cooler inside the Chalet so you didnt have to go broke buying lunch and snacks.

My most recent trip to Beaver Creek woke me up to the fact that there is no way my wife and I are bringing our kids there as we found NO central chalet for bringing a cooler, or even keeping the kids extra stuff.

Does WP still have a central Chalet? And if so can you bring in a cooler? Are there any other Major resorts in CO that let you bring a cooler into a central location?

Not that I am aware of, I believe those days are long, long gone.

I used to bring a cooler into WP and Copper all the time when I first moved here, they stopped that in the mid-late 90's.

If you leave anything in the lodge now for too long they will take it to lost and found.

baLlcony house, upstairs (the floor above the lockers), where the racer kids hang out, I'm pretty sure there was ONE old microwave there last year.

Balcony House does and they did have a couple of microwaves last year. Also on the Jane side they let you bring sack lunches into the area at the base. I think WP is still one of the more friendly areas with that type of stuff. Copper is also another good one. At both you'll probably have to rent a locker but is much less expensive than buying lunch.

You can always park at Jane and set up camp at the car, ski to the car for lunch, snack whatever. You can take Mary Jane Trail down from the Winter Park side with your kids, its a pretty wide/easy blue groomer. If they can handle Blues easily then you can head down that trail?? from sunnyside down right to the parking lot. I always packed lunch/cooler and just left it in the trunk, you'll people BBQing etc when it's not too cold out.
