Nice troll. Patsy's is a short green run if I remember correctly. Not that I haven't had MY butt kicked there at some point, you understand. "Sugar and Spice" at Sierra - now there's a killer.

Gunbarrel, Heavenly Valley.

Gunbarrel isn't stupid-steep. It doesn't have strange fall lines or hacked up bumps. It's actually got a nice pitch and is usually full of prime zipper lines. The reason this run continually kicks my ass is due to two things: its length and the size of the bumps.

I've got no idea of how long it actually is but I wouldn't be surprised if it were 2000 vertical feet of unrelenting bumps. And how big are they? Well in the spring on the NORTH shore of the lake, you can actually see the bumps on Gunbarrel on the south side.

Combine the length and huge bumps with the fact that it sits below both a chairlift and a tram and most of the run is in full view of the lodge and it's more than a bit intimidating to me.

I can usually ski the top half pretty well. By the time I hit the first of three criss-crossing cattrails, though, I'm a quivering heap of lactic acid with a heartrate of about 220.

God I love it! Too bad the rest of Heavenly is so bad.

The Plunge, Tellurie.

It starts out steep, then gets steeper, then throw in about a five hundred burried Volkswagons.

I didn't ski it well, but I did live to ski another day.
