Come off it. First of all, this isn't all my decision. My wife is a newish skier -- you think she's going to enjoy MRG or Gore? I want to stay married!
You damn well know that the reason we're headed for Stratton isn't because we want to live out some lifestyles of the rich and famous fantasy. You ought to know me better than that, Phil, for christsakes. The logic isn't all that complicated: Whiteface and MRG are too far (remember, toddler -- in car -- think back, Phil, think back) and Belleayre, which we both love, has only stinking little motels for local accommodation -- not places you'd want to spend your time in the day if you had a toddler, right? (if you know of better, please enlighten me!). The slopeside 1-BR condo package price we got at Stratton for five nights four days lift tickets included is an amazing $950. For a family holiday, that ain't shiit. Stratton may be the most expensive area in the east, but it's pricing way fricking lower than any other place I can find right now in southern VT. Okemo wanted $1400+ for the same deal. You gotta admit, $950's a great price. As for our "nanny" -- shove it, man. Look, it's childcare, you can read, can't you? What the fook do you want me to call her, a "part-time in-home daycare specialist?" Sure, whatever. If that makes you happy, fine. She's still cheaper and better than the crap daycare around where we live and most importantly, it works for our boy.
As it turns out, we're probably canceling this trip anyway. Can't afford it this year. So bug off, OK?
BTW, I will be headed up to Belleayre as often as funds/time allow -- but by myself.
