Yes, you're right but I go on ski vacations to ski and nightlife for this family man is card and table games, family movies, swimming pool at a nearby motel. There is also supervised babysitting every evening in the Hotel and organized family events in one of the larger rooms in the base area. The daycare center is at the opposite end of the parking lot, away from the rest of the base facilities. I remember being impressed with the attentive staff and organized outdoor play.
To stay on topic here daycare in this country is really bad, in our experience and my wife worked at a daycare center. You would expect daycare workers to be well paid but my wife earned minimum wage. Think of that the next time you consider daycare. Too often daycare is operate by people that have zero concern for the welfare of children, barley meet legal standards and pay staff squat.
Daycare at ski resorts too often is just another big profit center much like snow sport school. My experience is that at the larger resorts there are dedicated, trained staff with good programs.
I really liked Stowe's daycare except it was centered on Spruce and I was skiing Mansfield so it meant a bus ride over. Now with a lift interconnect that problem was solved. It's been years since I've used resort daycare but it seems the program has changed little at Jay.
