I am thinking about taking some clinics on racing from PSIA. I am debating in my own mind what ski to bring. I have a couple of pairs of RX-8's (165 and 175). I am pondering the Fischer Race SC, which has the same or similar dimensions to the RX-8, and depending on which posts you believe, is either stiffer or not as stiff, one of the Fischer Slalom skis, or maybe something else. I think I will avoid the Progressor, because I like having a tail that carves similarly to the tip. I really like that hooking up feeling, although maybe not so much in the bumps, but then the ski I am pondering is not to be primarily for the bumps. I don't need FIS legal, as I am not even sure I care to race NASTAR. I just want to learn about racing so I can teach kids how to go around gates, and improve my skiiing skills by having to make turns where the course dictates. Anyy other skis come readily to mind. I am 6'2" and over 250 lbs, but generally ski relatively short stiff skis.
