I only get skis I want to ski.

These are all skis I WILL ski this season (except maybe the 183 Powerkarves, which may be heading to the swap. The bindings for the Spats are on the way, as are wide brakes. The conspicuous empty space will be filled with a pair of............

I agree, you should sell a pair and buy a decent camera.

I think the lens is dirty, but otherwise, it's really a pretty nice little camera, a fellow bear gave it to me because my old one rarely worked. I might have moved while I was shooting too.

I'd have the heels checked on those Atomic bindings. They're notorious for going bad. This is not an urban legend (as the debate surrounding Markers might be). The 412 series are especially bad. Ask me how I know.

OK, I'll tell you. I had 'em checked at SierraJim's place last April. Set on 12, they tested at about 2.

Well I've discussed this with a factory rep who was posting here on epic, and he acknowledged the problems that happened with some of the earlier generation Atomic Xentrix and the Race version too, but that my CR 614 TDs were of a later model, a couple years after the ones that had problems.

They have been 100% rock solid bindings, and I have skied them in conditions so uttterly horribly jarring that it almost defies description (they are my ICE KNAR skis. I looked into the Atomics, and asked the right questions to people who know. Thanks anyway.

RD Coyotes? Wow! Haven't seen any of those in years.

My choice would be 4th from the left.

As mentioned...need some G-max's. The first Volant I fell in love with!

Where is the shirt???

When did you get the Spats?

What's your excuse for not having the Spats mounted?

I thought it looked like quite the collection, The Zmax G was pretty much the direct precursor to the Supercarve. It had a 12mm sidecut, which was deep at the time!

I skied the Z a lot, tried the G-Max, Had the Zmax-G (208!), SuperCarve, PowerCarve, and 1st gen Chubbs, so I had quite the Volant quiver there for awhile myself. Now I have a HEAD quiver, which I love. Looks like you are having fun with those babies!
How long did it take to polish those for the photo opportunity?
finally! (on the Spats).

now the collection is complete, eh?

or do you entertain the notion of rocking a complete Volant McConkey collection?

THAT would be SAWWWEEEET, no?

Scotchbright pad brings Volantes back to show room shine!

Buddy has been borrowing mine. Trading him back for some Fischers. Looking forward to getting them back.

Think "Hot... rod... Lincoln..."

VolanteAddict, got any extra Volante "eyes" from the tips? One of mine popped out.

Um, I just got them yesterday, and as Michael pointed out, the bindings are on the way.

Oh my even newer pair of skis showed up today, but I have to go to work now.

Killer beard, but do you have one of those Lotto ping-pong ball things to help you decide which pair to take or do you have a Sherpa/caddie following you around so you can switch every 100 yards or so? WAY too many skis....

Whatever

Volantaddict. A little off topic but I have to ask.

Page 22 Powder Magazine, upper left corner, Stash BC ad. Is that YOU?

Striking resemblence.:

Nice purchase VA . Lets hope the season finds you many opportunities to take them out for some mileage.

Now about them newer skis. I would put money on a bet they are not Volants but the clue offered looks like a Volant only spacing.

Nice to see your smiling face. Enjoy.

We have about 10 pairs of Volants!!!

Between my husband and myself, at one time we owned about 13 pairs of Chubbs - mainly purchased cheap as demos, though I probably paid about $1000 for my first pair way back when - demoed them in powder on a Sunday and bought them on Monday in December. Then my husband was getting tired chasing me through the powder so he ended up buying his first demo pair for about $300.

Right now we have sold some of the Chubbs and probably have only about 7 pairs left. I also own 3 pairs of Volant Vertex M which I love.

Hubby is a traitor as he just bought 2 pairs of Rossi B3s the end of last season.

Complete? Hell no. I still don't have Gold Vapor Power T3s, or Epic T3s, or Machete FBs. I did mark off TWO skis from my Volant to get list, the Spatulas, and..........

OK I'll spill, My newest skis are a sweet pair of 200cm Superkarve Legends. They are sort of a race-ish intended ski deigned by Phil Mahre. They are very stiff, and reputed to be somewhat unforgiving. I feel a little like trotski must, I could be in for a wild, and very fast, ride. :

Here's the full array (I threw some 977s on the spat you see so I could use my lasso vice, and prep the bases for repairs):

I've thought about doing that, as actually they are rather dirty right now; the steel just reflects the light very effectively. Beautiful, no?

Yes I actually have a quiver of sherpa caddies. Each specializes in carrying a particular type of ski.

Way too many skis for what? For you? Well it's a good thing that they are with me where they are appreciated.

Well met indeed!

I have toyed with collecting them all (it was baseball cards when I was a kid), but I really don't have room for that sort of an endeavor.

They are only newer to my house, and my friend you were quite wrong to guess they aren't Volants. Oh well, not every one is cut out to be a fortune teller.

No one has commented on my newly mounted Ti Chubbs, which I am also very excited to ski.

They ARE the bomb, aren't they? These ones are '02s and the mount is further forward than I had it on the '01s, but at the same time, they lack the stack height that the others had. It will be interesting to see how they ski compared to the Ti Chubbs which have the same dimensions, but which I have mounted at -1 from the boot toe line.
