I have skied it several times in the 190 length. It has a fairly straight shape and an even flex in the medium category. It is pretty easy to ski if not terribly energetic. A while ago, I skied it back to back against the K2 Pontoon in some heavy wet Sierra Glop at Sugar Bowl. The Porohete held it's own fairly well against the 'toon in that stuff. I can't speak to the shorter ones but I'd suspect the general personality to be the same.

Then the Porohete is not the right tool for you. Go back to your original two choices and buy one of those.

I weigh 175 lbs and love my 180cm Porohete's in light and deep snow. Why use stiff skis in soft snow? If you want a general purpose ski, you would prefer something else. At 125 lbs, the 170 would be a lot more ski for you than the 180's are for me. By the way, I also ski Alpine or Squaw almost everyday and I love stiff skis on firm snow.

Can anyone compare a 180 Porohete with a 183 Gotama? Thanks.

I agree. Don't think the old adage of "soft snow = soft skis, and hard snow= hard skis" is outdated yet. I ski the original Fischer 192 Wateas (101 waist), which are from the same line and are very soft. I love them in any kind of deep snow.
