crap- I think he sold me those skis. Said the holes in them improved aerodynamics

I wish Owens would code the clips in either Real or the Windows player.

I don't have Quicktime and won't install it. It fouls things up.

SCSA, this surprises me.
You are the last person I would expect to make a sweeping generalisation bad-mouthing something you don't use.
And, surely, this is an Apple product, and remember, they were the original, before IBM came along with their new, and obviously wrong ideas...
(do I need to go on?)

When you get someone to ski El Capitan will you post the entire clip? Please advise.

Hey Fox,

Whoa nellie!

I love Apple products. The ipod is probably the greatest invention in the last few years.

When I say that Quicktime screws up my PC, it does! Why? Because friggin MS has a way of making it so that non-MS software just doesn't seem to work very well.

Don't be so Quick (clever aye) to jump on me. Go jump on one of your girls instead.

Cheers,

Sorry SCSA,
Last night was a bad one for me! Thanks for the suggestion, I'm sure you realise that if I had the choice, you wouldn't be on the list of people I would jump on...

SCSA- Actually, I use Multiple formats for most of the clips in the "Clips" section of our site but pretty much use only Quicktime for the "Clip of the Week". This is pretty much just a time thing. The Clip of the week has to be kinda quick and dirty for me. From an encoding and management standpoint, Quicktime is like a zillion times easier. With Windows Media and REAL, I have to create an MPG or other file and convert it each time I do a little clip. With Quicktime, I can encode a master file of the entire flick and then cut and paste segments from it whenever I want. Quite frankly, I think the Quicktime spits out the best quality file as well. It's my format of choice by a long shot. You are the first person I've had metion that Quicktime gives you PC issues. I'm a PC guy myself (not a MAC fan at all)and have never had a problem on any computer I've run it on.

Anyway, that's a rather long explanation of my reasoning. It's kinda like "I gotta pick one, so this is it."

I don't have any problem with running Quicktime on my P.C. Did you load the right version?
SCSA,
Were you trying to run the Windows 3.11 version on your DOS 6.2?

It might be eXPedient of you to eXPressly consider the eXPonential benefits that I have eXPerienced since upgrading my OS from 98 to the latest version, but I can't remember what it's called. I guess my brain is about to eXPire.

Actually, XEROX developed the original personal computer back in the early 70s, with a mouse and a GUI interface. Regretably for them the higher ups in the company weren't very prescient. Several XEROX engineers eventually left to work for Apple.

SCSA ain't the only one off your list .

B.Rat,
SCSA was never ON the list to come off it, and don't worry, the same applies to you!
I accept your correction on the computer thing. I'm not very intelligent.

Actually Quicktime often gives me grief as well, depends on what I've had open since the machine booted. I run NT.

Quicktime is ok, but it takes so long to load the clip. haven't downloaded again it after I renewed my MB and hard drive last year. Tried to just now and it wouldn't start. Mouse arrow would turn to the pointy hand at the ads but not at 'download now'. Will try again later.
