New Lifts for 2007-2008

Thread Starter
There's a new lift at Big Sky this year and another planned for next year. What's new at other ski areas?

Mad River replaced the old creaky slow single chair with a brand new refurbished creaky slow single chair.

Big Mou....Whitefish Mountain Resort is replacing Chair 1 (high speed quad of 20 years service) with a new one, moving the parts from the first one over to the Chair Two area and replacing that pokey thing. That'll be good for the tourists who have issues with fog as the top of Chair Two is generally lower than the fog layer and I think a lot of the people came up into the fog even though it made them uncomfortable because sitting on pokey #2 seemed such a waste of time for the vertical you cover.

Something tells me, the new one won't be any quicker. The old single, for a fixed grip, was not that slow. Back in the 70s they ran it faster and it moved right along.

The towers were returned to their bases this week.

Say...what is the status of Jackson Hole Tram for this season?
Squaw is upgrading the shirley lift.

I think Heavenly replaced a lift too, but that may have been last season;check their site.

Breck put a lift up from the parking lot to peak 9.

And Abasin put a lift into montezuma bowl(think that's right). the construction of it even made the around the world in 80 seconds on fox news friday. gotta love it when a new lift makes nationwide news. a new lift is definitely way more important that Britney and OJ.

Calm down Jer, stop shouting and relax ...cause the new detachable six at 7 Springs will wisk you to the top of the mountain just a tad slower than you can ski back down (750 vert.).

Deer Valley... Lady Morgan Express

Hellooooooo Don,

Rumor has it that the new tram at Jackson Hole will not be ready until the 2008/2009 season. That, however, will not keep me away.
I looked at your pics at the Basin and was quite impressed. Will have to test it this year as well.

Hope to see you this winter.

Timberline is gone on the Jane side of Winter Park. New high speed starting down by Sunnyside and ending at the top of Parsenn is replacing it.

New Northway Chairlift at Crystal Mt. (Washington)

I've been tempted to start a thread on this - because I'm rather excited about this new chairlift - but I'll just point a link instead...

Wow. Nice find. Forget spending a summer and visiting each ball park; the real milestone is placing your ar$e in each of these chairs this winter. I wonder if Chris Davenport is considering this :

Interesting that the Yellowstone Club is putting in new lifts. Is this opening up more terrain? I can't imagine any of the existing lifts needing replacement already as that place hasn't been in existence that long, right? I can't imagine them having started out with USED lifts, for instance. (You can tell I'm not a potential member by these questions.)

You'd think that there wasn't any other lift company than Doppelmayr....
